Randy and Kristin Marchant and their two children, Charlie and Annika were baptized and entered the Church on Lazarus Saturday. Randy and Kristin both grew up here in Regina. Kristin went away to Montreal to study at McGill University. She and Randy met when she returned to Regina and they married in 2009. Randy discovered the Orthodox Faith and began learning about it through podcasts on Ancient Faith Radio when everything was closed down in 2020. St. George's was the first Orthodox Church he came to in summer 2021. Kristin had her own journey to learning the Orthodox Faith, beginning with several friends of hers who joined the Church more than 20 years ago. Kristin took a university class from Fr. John and visited St. George's a couple of times before she moved away to Montreal. When Randy started to show interest in attending the Orthodox Church, Kristin began investigating it again, and soon the whole family was attending. Kristin is a medical pbysicist in the radiation therapy department at the-Allan Blair Cancer Centre and loves to sing. Randy is a machinist with his own home shop. He is also a fan of trying out new recipes for foods from all over the world. Charlie is 8 years old and in Grade 3 at Douglas Park School. He enjoys riding his bike and his favorite subject at school is science. Annika just turned 5 and is in Pre-K, also at Douglas Park School. She enjoys coloring and taking pictures with her new camera. Both kids love playing with Barry, the family's new golden doodle puppy.
